Alfred J. Herrera was called home to be with our Lord on 10th March 2019. He was born August 6th 1948 to John and Magdalina Herrera in Raton, New Mexico. He loved to listen to oldies and cruise around in his car; he loved spending time with family. He liked joking with his nieces and nephews. He loved restoring old cars and being a mechanic. In his younger years he played guitar with his brother’s John and Abie. Alfred attended school in Raton, New Mexico at Longfellow grade school; he completed school up to the 9th grade. Alfred was very close to his mother Magdalina Herrera. He had various jobs throughout his life. He lived in Raton, New Mexico and Pueblo then he moved to Greeley with his brother John and made Greeley his home town.
He is survived by his two daughters Stephanie Jojola and Jessica Herrera of Greeley. His grandchildren Destiny Jojola, Ashley Jojola, Timothy Benavidez, Steven Garcia, Aaliyah Jojola and his great grandchildren all of Greeley. His Brothers John Herrera (Helen Herrera) of Raton, New Mexico, Walter Herrera (Debra Herrera) of Evans, Colorado, Naddie Martinez (Robert Martinez) of Greeley, Colorado, Marie Camargo and Glenda Herrera of Marshtown, Iowa, Betty Griego of Greeley, Colorado, his Goddaughter Irene Martinez of Greeley, Colorado. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Magdalina Hererra, his brothers Abie Truijillo, Mike Herrera, Simon Herrera, his uncle Ramon Mares and a nephew Isidro Garcia.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley.
