The Northeastern New Mexico Livestock Association is pleased to offer two $500.00 scholarships for the 2019/2020 school year. Scholarship applicants are required to have a livestock background. They may be graduating high school seniors or college undergraduate students. The applicant must be a resident of one of the following counties: Quay, Mora, San Miguel, Union, Harding or Colfax. Scholarship Requirements:
1. Must be a high school senior or college undergraduate in good academic standing.
2. The scholarship shall be awarded only once a year.
3. The Scholarship shall be applied to any college or university
4. The Scholarship will be payable directly to the college or university for expenses including tuition, books, fees, room and board.
5. Any recipient shall be eligible to receive the scholarship only twice. Preference will not be given to previous winners.
6. All applications will be judged according to the following 100 point scale:
7. GPA – 5 pts
Academic Honors – 10 pts
School Activities and Clubs – 5pts
Community Activities and Organizations – 5 pts
Essay #1 – 30 pts
Essay #2 – 25 pts
Financial need – 10 pts
Judges Discretion – 10pts
Both High School & College Students are encouraged to apply. Listed below are some specifications on the scholarship application.

4. Complete an essay on “How agriculture has influenced your life” Limit response to one page double spaced. (Essay #1 – 30pts)
5. Discuss one topic that is currently affecting the agricultural industry and its implications on the future of agriculture. Limit response to one page double spaced. (Essay #2 – 25 pts)
6. Include official copies of High School Transcript & College Transcript if applicable
7. Include at least one Letter of Recommendation.
