Dennis Michael (Mike) Morgan, age 72, passed away Monday January 7, 2019 in Raton. He was born May 19, 1946 to John B. and Josephine (Perrin) Morgan in Clayton, NM. Mike graduated from Raton High School in 1964, went on to attend TSJC in Trinidad, CO and completed his drafting education in Denver. Mike married the love of his life, Sharlene Lark on July 29, 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Army and returned to Raton where he started Gateway Metal Products and continued there for nearly 35 years. He was a member of the Raton Trap Club, served on the Raton Public School Board, the Raton Housing Authority and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents John B Morgan and Josephine (Perrin) Morgan; his wife Sharlene (Lark) Morgan; his sister Sharon Morgan-Keeler and husband Charles Keeler as well as his sister Diane Morgan-Cortez. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Margaret (Begio) Lark and Richard F. Lark; brothers-in-law, Floyd J. Lark, William L. Lark and John T. Lark.
He is survived by his daughter Karyn R. Hall and husband Brent Hall and their three children Ayden, Tailyr and Owyn of Raton. Also survived by brothers-in-law Stanley R. Lark (Dawn) and Edward P. Lark (Leslie); sisters-in-law Sharon (Lark) Hayes (Stan), Sue (Cook) Lark, Sylvia J. (Lark) Clark (Dudley), Sue A. (Lark) Smith (Truman), Sheila R. (Lark) Gray (Danny) and Shirley K (Lark) Stroik (Paul); numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2 PM at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Jon Kuncel and Monty McGowen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton
The service and celebration of life for Mike Morgan are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
