Gennaro “Nado” Avila, passed away on January 3rd, 2019. He was born on January 27, 1945 in Raton to Placido and Lucy Avila.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Placido and Lucy Avila, brother Manuel Avila, sisters Alicia Mariani and Estella Romero, and an infant grandson Toby David Book, Jr.
He is survived by sisters Mary Flores and Rosemarie Martinez, brother Justo Avila and wife Alicia. Daughters Veronica Sandoval and Husband Steven, Barbara Avila, sons Gennaro Avila, Ted Avila and wife Cynthia, Marty Avila and Wife Marlene, Manuel Runion and David Runion.
He is also survived by special niece Maria Romero, special nephew Raul Avila, numerous nieces, nephews, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers, Raul Avila, Justo Avila Jr, Orlando Avila, Thomas Romero, Leroy Romero, Erine Mariani, Arthur Bueno and Orlando Bueno
Nado was born and raised in Raton and worked as a cook in many of Raton’s Best Restaurants. He was always “The Life of The Party” and was known by just about everyone in Raton. He will be greatly missed and will be in the Hearts of the many loved ones he left behind. Memorial services for Gennaro will be Saturday 26th at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home. Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow immediately after the memorial services at Fairmont Cemetery.
