In Loving Memory of Celestino “Ignacio” Santistevan

Celestino “Ignacio” Santistevan age 94, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018 in Pueblo Colorado at Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care.

He was born in Weston, Colorado on July 31, 1924 to Porfirio & Susie Santistevan.

He served his country in the United States Army.

Celestino worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a butane welder until his retirement in August 1985.

Taking it easy or slowing down was not in his vocabulary as he continued to keep busy doing odd jobs & helping others when needed.

Cele was married to Marie Santistevan for 69 years and they had twelve children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alex & Rudy and three children, Patricia Reyes Santistevan, James Santistevan & Paul Santistevan.

Cele is survived by wife Marie, children, Sonny (Sharron) Santistevan, Joan Santistevan , Steve (Liz) Santistevan, Andrew Santistevan, Veronica Santistevan, Kenneth Santistevan, Louise Santistevan, Angela Santistevan, Michelle (Juan) Valero, Bonnie (Natasha) Santistevan, Melissa (Joseph Underwood) Santistevan. Celestino had surviving siblings Johnny Santistevan, Joe Santistevan, Junior Santistevan, Three sisters Lena Rael, Therese Rael, and Nora Chavez.

Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2019 from 2pm-6pm at the Comi Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019, with Rosary at 9am at the Comi Chapel, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at Holy Trinity Church.

Interment will take place t the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery

Active pallbearers are Steve Santistevan, Bonnie Santistevan, Kenneth Santistevan, George Martinez, John Santistevan and OJ Mestas.
Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Martinez and Diane Santistevan.
Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
