This fishing report, provided by Bill Dunn and the Department of Game and Fish, has been generated from the best information available from area officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.
Albuquerque Drain: Sophia Vargas, age 8, of Albuquerque caught and released a 12-inch largemouth bass Nov. 20. She was using a minnow.
Bosque Redondo: Aubrianna Martinez, age 9, Danika Martinez, age 7, and Dorian Stewart, age 11, of Clovis all caught their first fish, rainbow trout, Nov. 21. They were using PowerBait.
Cimarron River Gravel Pit Lakes: Archer Harris, age 6, of Dallas, TX caught a 17-inch rainbow trout Nov. 22. He was using red Berkley power eggs.
Glenwood Pond: Carlos Rodriguez, age 11, of Deming caught an 18-inch rainbow trout Nov 25. It was his first time ever fishing. He was using peach PowerBait.
Jemez River: Alfred Casaus, Jr., age 6, and his father, caught limits of rainbow trout Nov. 22. They were using salmon eggs.
Lake Van: Jameson Salas, age 12, of Dexter caught a 21.7-inch rainbow trout Nov. 23. He was using homemade dough bait. Chevy Wyatt, age 11 and his mother Valerie caught limits of trout Nov. 24. They were using salmon peach PowerBait.
San Juan River: Mason Velasquez, age 5, of Farmington caught an 18-inch brown trout Nov. 23. He was fishing the Cottonwood Campground area and using a grey RS2. Diego Baca of Albuquerque caught and released a 28-inch, 7-pound brown trout Nov. 24. He was fishing the Quality Waters and using a size 22 black RS2. Sean Staggs of Albuquerque caught and released a 24-inch brown trout Nov.25. He was fishing the Texas Hole and using a size 22 black baetis.
Ute Lake: Andre Alvarado of Santa Fe caught an estimated 25-pound catfish and along with dad, Michael caught a limit of walleye Thanksgiving Day. They were using slab spoons and blade baits. Mary Vang of Dalhart, TX caught a 24.5-inch, 7-pound, 2-ounce, catfish Nov. 23. She was using a silver blade bait.

Cabresto Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Charette Lakes: Closed for the season.
Cimarron River: Stream flow below Eagle Nest on Monday morning was 7.62 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good using salmon peach PowerBait and Berkley power eggs. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was fair using PowerBait and power eggs.
Clayton Lake: Closed for the season.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was fair using spoons and blade baits at 20 to 35 feet for white bass and walleye. We had no reports on other species.

Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek: Trout fishing was slow.
Eagle Nest Lake: Trout fishing was very good as several limits were caught by anglers using PowerBait and salmon eggs. Two anglers fishing in the Six Mile area reported limiting out in two hours with fish up to 19.5 inches in length. They were using PowerBait. Fishing for northern pike was fair using swim baits and large streamers. Several hook ups were reported in the shallow waters. Fishing for perch and kokanee snagging was slow.
Eagle Rock Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Alice: There is a thin layer of ice on the lake and it is closed to fishing at this time.
Lake Maloya: Trout fishing was good using PowerBait. Fishing pressure remained very light.
Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Maxwell Lake 13: Closed for the season.
Monastery Lake: Fishing was good using Fire Balls, PowerBait and copper John Barrs for trout. A reminder to anglers that ice fishing is not permitted at this lake.
Morphy Lake: Work has begun on the dam and the lake will remain closed through the end of the year.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 21.5 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using copper John Barrs, San Juan worms, worms and Fire Balls for brown and rainbow trout.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 36.3 cfs. Trout fishing below Questa was fair using Fire Balls and worms.
Rio Grande: Stream flow on Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 190 cfs. Trout fishing was good using pheasant tails, egg patterns, Kastmasters, worms and salmon eggs. We had no reports on other species.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Valdez was 4.80 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow near Terrero on Monday morning was 4.12 cfs. Trout fishing was slow.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow near Penasco on Monday morning was 46.7 cfs. Fishing was slow to fair using salmon eggs for trout.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Trout fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and spoons. Dolores Ortega and Henry Benavidez of Deming caught their limits of trout here Nov. 23. They were casting copper Kastmasters from shore.
Shuree Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait, and Fire Balls for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Stubblefield Lake: The water level is extremely low, and fishing was slow for all species.
Ute Lake: Fishing was good using blade baits and spoons at 15 to 40 feet for walleye and white bass. We had no reports on other species. Fishing pressure was very light. The surface water temp was right at 50 degrees.
Northwest Fishing Report
Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was extremely light. Anglers should be aware that the boat ramp is in rough shape and four-wheel drive has been recommended for launching boats.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 247 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Fishing on the Albuquerque, Belen, Corrales and Peralta drains was good using salmon eggs, worms, PowerBait, small baetis patterns and San Juan worms for trout. One angler reported catching a largemouth bass on minnows in the Albuquerque Drain.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing was good using flies and PowerBait for trout. The best reports came from fly anglers working the east side of the lake. Fishing for all other species was slow. Fishing pressure continued to be very light.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 84.2 cfs and 50.8 cfs respectively. Trout fishing below El Vado was good using salmon eggs, night crawlers, wooly buggers and San Juan worms for brown and rainbow trout. Fishing below Abiquiu was very good using small egg patterns, small streamers, worms and salmon eggs. Anglers are reminded that that bag limit is two fish per day from the river crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiquiu upstream 7.0 miles to the base of Abiquiu Dam.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing was fair using liver, blood bait and cut bait for catfish. We had no reports on other species.
El VadoLake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fenton Lake: As of Monday morning, about 75 percent of the lake was covered with ice. Some open water area was accessible for anglers. Fishing was slow.
Heron Lake: Fishing for trout in the Ridge Rock area was good using roe sacs, Fire Balls and PowerBait. Kokanee snagging was good as several anglers reported taking limits.
Jackson Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and spoons for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez on Monday morning was 15.0 cfs. Fishing in the afternoon hours was good using salmon eggs and copper John Barrs for trout, with several limits reported. We had no reports from other streams.
Laguna del Campo: Closed for the season.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: Fishing was very good using PowerBait for trout. A few were also caught by anglers using salmon eggs and spoons.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake: Kokanee snagging was slow. Fishing was fair using roe sacs, Fire Balls and PowerBait for trout. Fishing was fair using swim baits, jigs, jig and grub combinations and worms for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using swim baits for northern pike. We had no reports on other species.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow below Navajo Lake on Monday morning was 284 cfs. Fishing was good using foam wing emergers, chamois leeches, small bead head pheasant tails, RS2s, red annelids, mini macs and small egg patterns for brown and rainbow trout. Through the bait waters, trout fishing was good using night crawlers, PowerBait, worms, RS2s, copper John Barrs and small spoons.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Tingley Beach: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout. A few trout were also caught by anglers using small spoons and streamers. We had no reports on other species.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Southwest Fishing Report
Alumni Pond: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Bear Canyon Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Caballo Lake: Fishing remained slow for all species. Fishing pressure was light.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing for catfish was fair to good using cut bait, liver, homemade dough bait and worms. Fishing for all other species was slow.
Escondida Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few trout caught by anglers using PowerBait and small Kastmasters.
Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 84.7 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
