In Loving Memory of Carlina Moore

Carlina Moore, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018.  Carlina was known for her boundless energy and joy of life and the pleasure she brought to everyone she touched.  As Presbyterian Hospital’s manager of retail, Carlina was the heart and soul behind the hospital’s major expansion of its gift shops and is known throughout the community for her business acumen.  Born on July 10, 1924 in Raton, New Mexico, to Tony and Anna Marchiondo, she was stricken with tuberculosis as a young adult and spent four years convalescing in a Valmora sanatorium.  True to her nature, she remained upbeat throughout her illness and was finally cured of the disease after participating in the ground breaking research for the antibiotic Streptomycin which was first administered to patients in 1945.  In 1950, she married her husband, Irving E. Moore, who was her loving partner for 58 years until his passing in 2008.  Carlina is survived by her son, Richard C. Moore II (Carol L. Smith), and her daughter, Cynthia M. Moore.  She also has three wonderful grandchildren, Caroline E. Moore, Benjamin C. Moore and Raffaele Y. Moore. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, and seven brothers.
A visitation and Rosary for Carlina will be held at FRENCH- University on 1111 University Blvd N.E. at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018, and a Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church at 2532 Vermont St. NE.  Carlina will be laid to rest next to her husband Irving at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
