Fernandez Castellano, age 86, passed away at Mt. San Rafael Hospital on November 3, 2018.
He was born in Rivera, NM, on May 22, 1932 to Natividad (Trujillo) and Abel Castellano.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Fernandez was a master carpenter and created an unique bedroom set for his wife Irene.
He was an excellent shoemaker.
Fernandez loved the outdoors, hunting, taking fishing trips with his children and grandchildren.
He was an accomplished guitar player. He also enjoyed riding horses,
Fernandez was united in marriage to Irene Lopez.
The union produced 12 children, Judy (David) Saiz, Martha (Joshua) Serna-Hernandez, Abel (Diana) Castellano, Leroy (Maria) Castellano, Josephine (Fillipe) Chavez, Rosalie (Richard) Castellano, Paul (Loretta) Castellano, Kathy Fernandez, Monica (Ethel) Castellano, Raymond and Vince Castellano, the late Joseph (Brenda) Castellano, who all will forever cherish the memories of their Father.
He will also be missed by his brother Ernie Castellano, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren 8 great great grandchildren.
Fernandez has been reunited with his parents Natividad and Abel, sister, Cecaria, precious wife Irene, youngest son Joseph, grandson Conrad Serna and granddaughter Yovanna Cuavros.
Visitation will be Monday from 4PM-7PM at the Comi Chapel.
Rosary will be Monday, November 12, 2018 at 7PM at Comi Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard.
Leading the pallbearers in uniform are Abe and Anthony Serna, Honorary pallbearers, Kenny and Curtis Castellano, Victor Chavez, Kodiak Gonzalez, Juda Rivera and all his grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
