In Loving Memory of Margaret Addie Montoya

Margaret Addie Montoya, age 77, died Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Joel Bugas, Fr. Glenn Jones and Fr. John Brasher as Celebrants. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Margaret Addie (Rael) Montoya was born on November 23, 1940 in Folsom, New Mexico to Rosendo Rael and Virginia (Garcia) Rael. She attended school in Clayton with the exception of 1 year in Bernalillo and graduated from Clayton High School in 1959. Addie married P. Louis Montoya on June 4, 1966 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were foster parents to 14 children. Addie was the St. Francis Xavier Religious Ed Director for 35 years. She served as a board member for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Charismatic Renewal Center and was a renowned speaker throughout the U.S. for Charismatic Renewal. Addie also served as a board member for Flames of Love International Ministries. She cooked at the Eklund for a few years and then together with Louis owned and operated restaurants in Clayton for many years. Addie was preceded in death by a son; Little Manuel, her parents; Rosendo and Virginia Rael, her in-laws; Antonio and Agapita Montoya, 3 sisters; Juanita Rael, Pauline Rael and Jean Talley, 5 brothers; Charlie Rael, Richard Rael, Joe Rael, Jose Manuel Rael and Johnny Rael, 3 sisters-in-law; Irene Rael, Adelina Montoya and Viola Rael and 5 brothers-in-law; Tony Montoya, Joe Simoés, Lawrence Montoya, Jim Talley and Pete McDonald.

SURVIVORS:

HUSBAND: Louis Montoya of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 DAUGHTERS: Mary Jean Willard and husband Dennis of Texico, New Mexico, Lorraine Padilla and husband Virgil of Clayton, New Mexico, Virginia Garrido and husband Peter of Wahiawa, Hawaii and Rachel Montoya and wife Annetta Jordan of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

1 SON: Patrick Montoya of Amarillo, Texas.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Grace Mueller, Nicholas Jordan, Ryan Padilla, Xavier Garrido, Ethan Montoya and Ella Montoya.

5 SISTERS: Dorothy Sanchez and husband Donato of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Belen Simoés of Portales, New Mexico, Mercedes Merecki and husband Bruce of Tucson, Arizona and Patsy McDonald and Lucine Montoya and husband Tommy all of Clayton, New Mexico.

5 BROTHERS: Leo Rael and wife Paula of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Dennis Rael of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Cass Rael and wife Tina of St. Petersburg, Florida and Dominic Rael and wife JoJo and Fredie Rael and wife Gloria all of Clayton, New Mexico.

And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, God-Daughters and God-Sons.
