James Haugh Sentenced to 42 Years

James Haugh (68) plead guilty to three of six charges he faced after an incident involving a minor in February of 2018.

 

Haugh was charged with six counts in the case and plead guilty to three with the remaining charges being dropped. He plead guilty to Count 1: Criminal Sexual contact with a minor a 2nddegree felony, Count 2: manufacturing visual medium of sexual exploitation also a 2nddegree felony and Count 6: sexual exploitation of children by prostitution a 2nddegree felony.

 

Count one has a mandatory three sentence that cannot be suspended. Judge Emilio Chavez sentenced Haugh to 42 years with seven years suspended. Haugh will now spend 86% of the 35-year sentence in the New Mexico Department of Corrections as to count one of the charges.

 

Upon release Haugh shall complete at least five years of probation or until his natural life ends. He will also have to spend five to 20 years of supervised probation and register as a sex offender.
