In Loving Memory of Rose Marie (Hancock) Brown

Rose Marie (Hancock) Brown passed away Thursday, September 27th, in Raton, New Mexico. She was 94 years old.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2nd 2018 at the Don R. Wood Auditorium in Clayton, New Mexico. Gravesides services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Des Moines Cemetery in Des Moines, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. Rose Marie (Hancock) Brown was born on the family homestead farm near Boise City, Oklahoma, on February 25th, 1924 to Homer and Anna (Ohnick) Hancock. She graduated from Boise City High School in 1941. In December of 1946 she married Herman (Bud) Brown and to this marriage was born two children, Raylene and Burl. They spent their married life on the family ranch outside Des Moines, New Mexico, and celebrated their 71st anniversary this past December. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Raylene, son-in-law Steve, and by Steve’s 2nd wife Karla. She was also preceded by her mother and father-in-law Tom and Mollie Brown, her sisters-in-law Lenora Hancock and Anna Brown, and a brother-in-law John Brown.

SURVIVORS:

Rose is survived by her husband Bud, her son Burl Brown and his wife Karen and by her grandchildren Bruce Coleman and his wife Shelly, Shari Carroll and her husband Alex, Damon Brown and his wife Jennifer, Ryan Brown and his wife Pennie, Brian Coleman and his wife Aubrey, Stephanie Releford and her husband Derek, and 13 great-grandchildren. Her brother George Hancock, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
