In Loving Memory of Martha Ann Archuleta

Martha Ann Archuleta, age 60, died peacefully on Sunday Morning in Clayton, New Mexico with her family by her side after a well battled illness.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 26th and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 27th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Deacon P. Louis Montoya officiating. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Martha Ann Archuleta was born on July 4, 1958 in Hugoton, Kansas to Agapito Gabriel “Pete” Padilla and Viola Mary (Cruz) Padilla and she was raised in Clayton, New Mexico. Martha married Jerry Archuleta on June 10, 1978 in Clayton. They lived in Raton, Tucumcari, Las Vegas and Clayton. Martha worked for several years at the Coffee Break as a waitress and she also fixed flats and worked on vehicles. Later she worked in the motel business for the Mission Motel, Clayton Motel, Super 8 Motel and the Best Western Kokopelli Lodge working in every part of the motel business. Martha enjoyed gardening and grew a very nice garden every year and she loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She did childcare work and helped raise many children from the Clayton area. She was a very loving person and once even went out in a snow storm to save a dog with its puppies. Martha loved her family more than anything and she especially loved spending time with her grand kids. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

HUSBAND: Jerry Archuleta of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 DAUGHTERS: Amanda Encinias and her husband Andrew, Alicia Jones and her husband Scott and Andria Archuleta all of Clayton, New Mexico and Mia Garcia of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Evangelina and Cheyana Encinias, Jerry Archuleta and Adrian, Brennen and Lexa Jones.

3 SISTERS: Nadine Padilla and Sarah Padilla and her husband Adolfo all of Clayton, New Mexico and Norma Padilla and her husband Steve of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

2 BROTHERS: David Padilla and his wife Sally and Virgil Padilla and his wife Lorraine all of Clayton, New Mexico.
