As the match between Raton and Clayton got underway Tuesday evening it was an all Lady Tiger game as Raton took the early lead and walked away with the first game 25-6 from the west side of the court.
Raton simply dominated game one of this non-district game in Tiger Gym by making the hits over the net and strong defense at the net when the ball came that way. Clayton also had trouble getting under the ball as it came back over the net letting several balls either fall to the floor or took to many hits to get it back over the net.
Game two however was a totally different game as Raton was on the east side of the court and fell behind early on. Raton never fell behind more than a few points and finally came back and tied the game at 13. From there it was a back and forth game with both teams either making the tie or pulling ahead a couple of points. Finally the game was tied at 23 and Raton managed to pull it the game out with a couple of kills.
Game three, with Raton on the west side of the court, saw the Lady Tigers take a quick five point lead and play a strong game at the net and on the floor with hits and spikes finding the open floor. Raton pulled out in front and stayed there extending the lead to as much as ten points before going on to a 25-15 win over Clayton.
