In Loving Memory of Viola M. Roybal

Viola M. Roybal, age 93, went home to be with Our Lord, on September 7, 2018. She passed away peacefully in the family home surrounded by the loving family. She was born, September 5, 1925 in Raton, New Mexico to Reyes and Manulita (Trujillo) Garcia. She was a member of St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Viola enjoyed her time working as a foster grandmother with the Raton Catholic School. Her patience kindness and loving heart made all who knew her feel special. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing BINGO. Holidays were always a wonderful time for Viola as she could see the family she loved so much gathered together in one place.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Reyes and Manulita (Trujillo) Garcia, her loving husband Paulino Roybal, granddaughter Francesca Roybal, Sister Josephine Garcia and brother Arthur Garcia. She is survived by her six children, Thomas Roybal, Pedro Roybal and wife Beth, Ernest Roybal, Beatrice Sanchez and husband Eugene, Patricia Sanchez and Kathryn Roybal all of Raton. She is survived by twelve grandchildren, Jessica Roybal, Nathanael Roybal, Joseph Richardson, Dionicio Jojola, Coleen Sanchez-Garcia, Orlando Sanchez, Cassandra Sanchez, Tracey Devorshack, Theodore Sanchez Jr. and Trisha Sanchez, Paul Daniel Roybal, and Abraham Roybal. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Robin, Connie, Francis and Julia who helped so much with the care of their mother.

A viewing for Viola M. Roybal will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:00 am recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette. Solemn Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton NM with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
