In Loving Memory of George D. (Poyo) Cole Jr

George D. (Poyo) Cole Jr, 69, passed away at home on September 8, 2018.

He was born on February 11, 1949 to George Sr. and Josephine Cole.

George married his high school sweetheart, Modene Santistevan on April 26, 1968, having celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

George worked as a continuous miner operator at the Allen Mine since August 12, 1968 and was a UMWA Local 9856 member for 50 years.

George was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather.

He loved all his grandchildren.

His family always came first.

He was a friend to everyone and loved helping his many friends just by being the kind and genuine man he was. He was always doing good deeds for his neighbors.

George loved feeding the birds, squirrels and whatever else came into their yard. He is known for his beautiful yard and his amazing garden. He was a man that made everything better.

George will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by infant son Todd Anthony Cole, father and mother George and Josephine Cole, brother Oney Cole, nephews Michael Cole and Richard Sanchez, in laws Pete and Cecilia Santistevan, brothers in law, Pete Santistevan and Donnie Vigil and very dear friend Lucy Villani.

Survivors are wife of 50 years, Modene. sons David Cole, Kenny Cole, Jason Cole (fiancée Paula Winter), grandchildren, Gadge, McKenna, Katie Cole, Jonah Rael, Kevin and Bo Cole, Taylor, Ella, and Maddux Cole, great grandson Ozias Rael, brothers Bob (Sally) Cole, Joseph (Lucille) Cole, sisters May Alice Hyland, Penny (Ollie) Linder, Shirley Cole, Debbie (Ron) Drapeau, Janet Cole, sisters in law, Anita and Dan Velarde, Darlene Vigil and Tony Santistevan, Debbie and Brad Paine, Elaine and Jim Durbin and Loretta Santistevan.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10AM at the Comi Chapel with Pastor Kim Pittman officiating.

Internment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
