Steven Curtis Jensen, age 27, went home with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2018. He was born on April 24, 1991, to Darwin & Marcella Martinez Jensen. Steven was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother Elaine Floyd, and Paternal Grandfather Wallace Jensen. Special great aunt Epifania Casias.
Steven is survived by his parents Darwin and Marcie Jensen, his sister Mary Elaine, maternal grandmother Mary Torres and Godfather David Balizan, all of Springer, NM. Steven is also survived by his brother Devan Jensen of Albuquerque, sister Darice Balizan and nephews David, John & Mark, and brother Michael Jensen and nephew Austin all of Las Vegas NM; Matthew Jensen (Wife Nicole, nieces MaKenzie & Riley) of Tucson, AZ. Aunts: Dolores Romero (Manuel & cousins), Patricia Martinez & cousins; Uncle Jerry Aragon (Nicole & cousins) all of Raton, NM. Paternal Uncle Steve Jensen (Yolanda) of Springer. He is also survived by numerous cousins, and friends.
Steven graduated from Springer High School in 2009. He held many jobs that he did well including cashiering, waiting and as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The one job he was most proud of was his job at Russell’s Truck and Travel Center as a cashier, and eventually became the manager of Subway. No matter what other jobs he held, his heart was always at the truck stop.
Steven enjoyed spending time with family & friends, listening to music, and clowning around. He had the biggest smile, the biggest heart and the biggest hugs. He helped anyone in need, and never judged anyone. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Although he had no children of his own, he adopted in heart only, some of his friends’ children and loved them unconditionally.
Services for Steven C. Jensen will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, NM, on Friday, September 7, 2018 with Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM and Solemn Mass of The Resurrection with Father Trieu as the Celebrant. Inurnment will take place in Springer Cemetery immediately following the mass. The Jensen family wishes to thank all our family, friends, and neighbors for the prayers, the words of encouragement, and all who brought food.
