In Loving Memory of Victor Macaluso Jr

Victor Macaluso Jr., age 90, was called home to his Savior on August 19, 2018. Victor (known as Vic to his family and friends) was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.
Victor was born on August 8, 1928 in Trinidad, CO to Victor Macaluso Sr. and Mildred (Chaffee) Macaluso. He attended school in Trinidad and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute. He served as a Master Sergeant in the Army Reserves and earned a bachelors degree from the University of Denver in 1950. On October 7, 1950 he married the love of his life, Doris Ellen (Mann) and they were happily married for 66 years. He was the proud father to two children, Ron and Debby. Vic owned and operated Trinidad Battery for 40 years and later the Family Album Photo Studio. He taught photography at Trinidad State Junior College for more than 20 years, was a member of the Trinidad Round Up Association for 20 years, President of the Lions, President of the Jayces and was most proudly a life long member of the Trinidad Masonic Lodge #89 where he served as a past Master. He loved time spent with family, traveling, reading, playing bridge with friends, and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed volunteer time over the years with many organizations such as the Trinidad Children’s Museum and the Trinidad History Museum.
Victor was proceeded in death by his parents Victor and Mildred Macaluso, his brother Richard (Dick) Macaluso, his loving wife, Doris Macaluso, son in law Joe Mapes and granddaughter Vikki Mapes.
Victor is survived by his children Ron (Patricia) Macaluso of Carlsbad, NM, and Debby (John) Damrell of Whitharral, TX. His 4 grandchildren Mandie (Clint) Hill of Tyrone, CO, Ryan (Sarah) Macaluso of Windsor, CO, Megan Damrell (Tyson Tyler) of Levelland, TX and Katelan (Cody) Byars of Vega, TX. He was a proud great grandfather to 6- Brittanie and Weston Hill, Berkley Byars, Kamryn Tyler, and Brenden and Ryder Macaluso.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 9:30AM at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Cary Nelson officiating.
Masonic Rite will be conducted by Trinidad Masonic Lodge #28.
