In a letter from the Board of Directors President Paul Sands to employees, clients and patients Friday, Tri-County Community Services announced that they would be closing all of their operations this month after the New Mexico State Health Services Division and the Board of Directors determined that TCCS is no longer financially able to continue operations.
According to Sands the decision comes as a result “of ongoing and compounded struggles that TCCS has endured and has never been able to recover from. After the past year of getting real and true financials, and identifying the full extent of the debts and legal obligations of TCCS, we make this difficult decision.”
Tri-County offered behavioral health services in Clayton, Raton and Taos. In the Raton office Tri-County served over 375 clients/patients this year. Seven employees will be affected by this decision in the Raton office. Sands went on to say that “in the face of the challenges the staff devoted themselves daily to their clients and our communities.” According to local staff the last day of operations for the Raton office will be August 31.
Sands ended the letter wishing “that healthcare leaders, state organizations and others, come together to ensure resources are allowed to develop to provide the care that is so needed in our communities”.
