Mary Ann Martinez age 73 of Raton, passed away Tuesday June 26, 2018 in Raton. She was born November 12, 1944 in Taos, NM, the daughter of Luis and Cora Gallegos-Romero. Mary worked as a dishwasher for restaurants for many years and attended the Church of God of prophecy in Raton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben, brothers Eddie Romero and Joe Manuel Gallegos. Mary is survived by three sons, Ben 
Martinez Jr. and wife Becky, Ernie Martinez and wife Barbara and David Martinez all of Raton, three sisters, Cora of Albuquerque, Marylee of Taos, and Pauline of Moriarty, NM. Two brothers, James and Frank Macarenas of Raton. Four grandchildren Jeremiah Martinez, Desiree Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Jeffery Martinez and two great grandchildren, Opal and Charisma. Sister in laws Gloria Martinez, Emillie, Eleanor Martinez and uncle Willie, sister and brother in laws Clarence and Jennie martinez and Stella and Benji Romero.
Visitation will be Sunday July 8, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Recitation of the most Holy Rosary will be Monday July 9, 2018 at 10.00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Deacon Tom Alderette Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 with Father William Woytavice as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
