Special to KRTN
Raton Rotary Club would like to congratulate Mr. Bob Schaefer on his 50th year of service to the club.
Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-sectarian organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference.
In his 50 years as a member of the Raton Rotary Club, Bob Schaefer has participated in many community improvement projects that include support of Raton’s youth sports programs, the building of the dog park, the building of a community garden, donating playground equipment at Mora Head-start, as well as the support of FCCLA’s national qualifiers.
Bob has been a great example of a person who has put “Service Above Self” and the Raton Rotary club has been fortunate to have him be such a great example for others to follow.
Congratulations BOB and thank you to his wife Cindy for your commitment to our club. Raton Rotary meets at KBOB’s every Tuesday at noon. The public is always welcome to join us to help make a positive difference in our community.
