In Loving Memory of Bellsandro R. “Bill” Chavez

Bellsandro R. “Bill” Chavez, age 78, passed on June 19, 2018, at home with his family and friends by his side.

He was born on October 22, 1939 in North Fork, CO. to Annie (Vallejos) and Joe R. Chavez.

Bill attended and graduated from Primero High School in 1958.

Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp.

On October 12, 1962, Bill was united in marriage to Rosanna Gonzales at St. Ignatius Church in Segundo, CO.

He was employed by CDOT for several years and then moved to Washington DC where he served as a Capitol Policeman for 4 years. During this time, he attended the University of Maryland.

Upon returning to Trinidad in 1973, Bill started his own construction business.

He then opened the Colorado Driving School where he was an instructor for 15 years until his retirement.

Bill loved the earth and enjoyed hunting, working construction and farming.

Preceding him in death are parents Annie and Joe Chavez, siblings, Floyd Chavez, Estelle Morris, Maxine Scott, Felix Chavez and Johnny Chavez.

He is survived by his wife Rosanna, home address, son Troy (Alba) Chavez, TX, and daughters Veronica(Tom) Law, TX, , Sonja Chavez, Gunnison, CO, and Jessica Vallejos, Greeley, CO, grandchildren, Christopher, Cortney, Marcos, Diego, Alex, Arron, Viena, Troy, and grandbaby to be born next year in February., siblings, Charlie Chavez, Vigil, CO, Gene (Elaine) Chavez, Aguilar, CO, Rosella Martinez, Vigil, CO, Geraldine (Al) Santistevan, Vigil, CO, Daisy Mae (Gilbert) Asevedo, Los Cruces, NM, brother in law, Mark Gonzales, Aurora, CO, sister in law, Elizabeth Gonzales, Aurora, CO, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be missed dearly by his family.

Visitation will be held at Comi Funeral Home, Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 2:00PM to 7:00PM

Funeral will be held on Friday June 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at San Isidro Church in Vigil, CO.

Interment will follow at the Chavez Family Cemetery

Active Pallbearers will be Vernon Chavez, Kenney Chavez, Brian Chavez, Carl Chavez, Todd Gonzales, and grandsons Christopher Chavez, Marcos Vallejos, Diego Vallejos
