RHS Senior Olivia Ware signs Letter of Intent

Raton High Senior Olivia Ware is headed south to cheer for the University of the Southwest Mustangs after signing a letter of Intent Thursday morning in a short ceremony in Tiger Gym.

Ware, watched by her parents, Stephanie and Duncan Ware, signed a letter of Intent indicating that the will cheer for the Mustangs when school begins in the fall.

Linda Ortiz, Raton High Head Cheer Coach told KRTN that Olivia was the first cheerleader she has coached in her time at Raton High to sign a letter of intent. Ortiz noted that she has had cheerleaders cheer for NMSU. ENMU, UNM and CSU Pueblo. Ortiz congratulated Ware noting it is a great opportunity for her to not only continue her education and cheer at the collegiate level.

Coach Anderson was pleased with having Ware on the team noting that she not only has a cheerleader but an athlete as well.
