In Loving Memory of Charles E. McPeak

Charles E. McPeak, 76, of Raton, passed away peacefully May 11, 2018 after a yearlong battle with Pancreatic Cancer at his home with his wife Beverly, daughter Charlene and husband Wayne Taylor, sister Dorothy Kay and his step son Shane Beard at his bedside. Charles was born in Raton, September 22, 1941 to Nellie and Charles McPeak. He attended Columbian grade school, Raton Jr. High and 1959 graduate Raton High School. Charles had enlisted in the Air Force before graduation where he served four years. He the enlisted in the Navy in 1965 and served 17 ½ years before retiring in 1979. While serving in the Navy, he met and married Ruth Hatfield in 1988 and he and his wife of 23 years returned to Raton and made their home. He became the General Manager for the Texaco Service Station in Raton and later became Manager of the New Auto Zone Store in Raton until he retired after 5 years. His wife Ruth passed away 11/25/2005. Charles then married Beverly (Moore) Beard on 12/22/2007. He was preceded in death by his Mother Nellie Carlini, Father Charles McPeak, Step-father (Babe) Ernest Carlini and brother David McPeak. He is survived by his wife Beverly of the family home, daughter Charlene and husband Wayne Taylor of North Carolina, sister Dorothy and brother in law Billy Kay and family, Aunts Joyce Rossetti and family, Janet Berry and family all of Raton. He is also survived by step sons Shane, Mark and Christian Beard and wife Susie. Also, surviving are 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous friends, he will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Services for Charles McPeak will be on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home with Monty McGowan officiating.
