Nadine Louise Marchetti died peacefully in her home in Raton, New Mexico on March 16, 2018. Nadine was born to Ben and Flora Hanna on January 4, 1958. She is Preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Bob Marchetti, infant daughter, Victoria Marchetti, parents Ben and Flora Hanna, brothers-in law Bill Marchetti, Jim Lalond and Kerman Lew.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Shaw of Ramsey, Illinois, daughter Janna Tomah and her husband Lawrence of Raton. Adriana Marchetti and Ryan Garrett of Santa Rosa, N.M. Stepchildren Matt Shaw of Peoria, Illinois, Jessica Shaw and Russel Shaw, Ramsey Illinois, and Alex and Tanya Shaw of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Two beautiful granddaughters, Beall Tomah and Addie Shaw and several grand puppies. Born the fourth of seven children, Nadine is survived by her siblings Elane Lalond of Phoenix, AZ, Linda Elkins, her husband Leslie Elkins of Prior, OK, Vernon and Shirly Hanna of T or C, N.M. Eva Hanna and Jim Marchetti of Raton, N.M. Bo and Mike Cornwell, Belen, NM, Timothy and Cyroline Hanna of T or C, NM. She’s also survived by Ken and Jackie Marchetti, Jypsum, CO. Sylvia Anne Marchetti, Kennebec, SD, Rose and Punch Hennigan, Raton, N.M. and Sam and Nana Marchetti of Encampment, WY. Numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Nadine was a homemaker and extremely proud to say so. She substituted in the Raton Public Schools while raising her two teenage daughters, She earned her GED at the age of 39 by attending night classes. She once said that two of her proudest moments where when Janna and Adriana earned their bachelors degrees.
Nadine was a sounding board for anyone who needed it, supporting everyone in her life. She offered advise only when asked. She’s been described as one of the kindest, sweetest and most caring that we’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
A memorial service for Nadine will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel. Dinner will take place at the Isabel Castillo Building on North 2nd St., Raton N.M. catered by Bernie Saenz

I didn’t know her well, but she had a sweet soul that was apparent from the moment you met her. So sorry for everyone’s loss.
