Barbara Marie Micek, loving wife, mom and Nani passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was 70.
Barbara was born to Fred and Mercedes Olivo on December 4, 1947 in Trinidad, Colorado.
On September 2, 1967 she was united in marriage to Virgil Micek at Holy Trinity Church in Trinidad, Colorado.
Barbara was employed by various businesses in Trinidad. She was currently employed at WalMart which she helped open 31 years ago.
She was an avid Denver Broncos fan and never missed a game. Barbara was also a big fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed listening to his music and watching his movies. Barbara enjoyed baking and also enjoyed feeding hummingbirds but her GREATEST joy were her grandbabies.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Fred and Mercedes Olivo, her in-laws, Victor and Gertrude Micek, sister-in-law Judy Micek and her niece Shanna Jimenez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Virgil Micek, daughter Valerie (Ernie) Chevalier, son Troy (Rhiannon) Micek, six grandchildren, Zachary, Noah and Trevor Chevalier and Nathan, Madison and Zoey Micek, sisters Jonie (David) Jimenez and Bernadine Barela, brother-in-law Kenneth (Pauline) Micek, sister-in-law Joyce (Larry) Brown and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be Thursday, March 21, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Church.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Internment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Zachary, Noah and Trevor Chevalier and Nathan Micek.
Active pallbearers are Adam Barela, Tracy Barela, Ernie Chevalier, David Jimenez, Matthew Jimenez and Nikki Galindo.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Comi Funeral Home.
