In Loving Memory of Betty Mae Tapia

Betty Mae Tapia, age 69, passed away at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home on February 15, 2019 .

She was born in Trinidad, Colorado on September 23, 1948 to Mary (Chavez) and Leo Aragon.

She attended area schools graduating from Trinidad High School in 1966.

She was employed as a nurse aide and ward clerk at Mt. San Rafael Hospital for 25 years until her retirement.

TapiaBettyMaeOn July 10, 1971, Betty was united in marriage to Isidro Tapia at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, card games and traveling to Cripple Creek.

Betty was a camera buff and liked to take pictures.

She loved her family and always attended her sons and grandchildrens sports event.

Preceding her in death are parents Leo Aragon, Mary Zamora, husband Isidro Tapia Sr., son Isidro Tapia Jr. grandmother Clorinda Chavez, mother and father in law, Pat and Mike Tapia, nephew Richard Bradley, nieces Becky Aguilar and Renee Aguilar,

Survivors are son James (Andrea) Tapia, Co. Springs, CO, grandsons, Marcus Festi, Michael Tapia, Anthony Tapia, Noah Tapia, sister Agnes Vallejos, Trinidad, CO, brother Ben (Joanne) Aragon, Trinidad, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 3PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.

Rosary will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 7PM at Holy Trinity Church.

Funeral Mass will be Friday February 23, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Trinity church.,

Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Hernandez, Mike Hernandez, Michael Tapia, Damon Bradley, Les Aguilar, Tim Tapia and Danny Aguilar

Active pallbearers are Larry Vallejos Jr., Luke Vallejos, Marcus Festi, Travis Aragon, Brian Tapia and Zane Bazanele.

Arrangement made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.

    Rest in peace. You will be missed Bird. My condolences to Jimmy and family. Always in my heart and thoughts. So many memories hanging out with Jimmy at the Tapia house. You guys will always be family to me.
