Bertha Lillian Grubelnik, passed away on February 10, 2018 in Walsenburg, CO at the age of 85.
She was born in Lafayette, Indiana in April 14, 1932.
She lived in New Mexico most of her childhood. She was working in a hospital in Raton, NM, when she met her husband Joe Grubelnik. They were married April 5, 1948. She was a loving wife and mother. After her children were raised, Bertha went to cosmetology school.
Bertha worked in LaVeta and Walsenburg until she opened her own beauty shop in Aguilar. Later she expanded into a consignment shop, a business she really enjoyed running. She loved meeting all of the people and giving them good deals.
Bertha loved all of her little dogs and enjoyed her garden and flowers on the ranch. She was a very good cook and loved to have people come to eat with them.
Survivors are daughter Mary Ann (Terry) Williams, Frank (Natalie) Grubelnik, granddaughters Sherri (Bob) Topping, Dawna Jo Avila, grandsons Larry Williams, Michael (Andrea) Grubelnik, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, brothers Tony (Jenny) Franklin, Raymond Franklin, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Comi Chapel with Rosary at 9:30AM followed by Scripture Service at 10AM.
Interment will follow at the Mt, Calvary Cemetery in Raton, NM.
Honorary pallbearer are Tom Jolly, Jeff Jolly, George Grubelnik, Stan White, Billy Adams, Buddy Adams and Danny Marques.
Active pallbearers are Dale Grubelnik, Gary Vezzani, Mark Piano, Michael Grubelnik, Larry Williams and John Grubelnik.
