In Loving Memory of Virgil E. Buscarini

February 9, 2018 at the start of a new day, Virgil left us after 92 years of living a Christian life, working hard everyday unconditionally loving his large family and possessing the most humble and kind of character.

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Virgil and Della Buscarini, his sisters and their spouses, Aldena Valentine, Mary McCoy, Florence Jones and his lovely first wife Shirley.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Virginia and one sister, Shirley Pate.
He is also survived by 6 children, Lynn & Jim Fanelli, Sonny Buscarini, Sophie Atwater, Charmaine and Will Demchek , Adeline & Jim Shell and Danny and Teni Puryear.
Virgil and Virginia have been blessed with 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
BuscariniVirgilAlong with listed immediate family, he is survived by a host of great friends, excellent neighbors, fishing buddies, coal mining brothers and family too numerous to name.
Virgil has a long working history with many farming and cowboy experiences. He worked with Frank Van Buskirk Sr., Roy Armstrong and at the CS Ranch. His time away from Raton found him busy with the U.S. Navy as a torpedo man on the Piedmont and then to Los Angeles as an Animal Control officer for many years. When he returned to Raton he retired from Kaiser Steel Corp. His most important job was taking care of his wife,  Virginia. No one could have been a more loving and caring person or done a better job.

He enjoyed bowling with his great friends and team members traveling to many tournaments as well as fishing. His most enjoyable and relaxing times, though were riding his tractor in an effort to keep his promise to his dad of keeping the land clean at Rancho Terra Bella.
He was a member of the Elks Club where he and Virginia would dance and visit with many of their friends.

He and Virgina recently donated the Winter Wonderland to the Raton Main Street Committee for the people of Raton and the surrounding area to enjoy for years to come.

He was a great man, husband, father and grandfather. He taught us pride, respect, work ethic and love. He taught us in the way he lived every single day. We will carry on his legacy through his lessons and he will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home.

Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
