Jose (Joey) Luis Ramirez, 53, passed away at his home in Cimarron, New Mexico on January 4, 2018. Jose was born in Salinas, California on November 12, 1964 to Jose Melgosa Ramirez and Mary Grijalva Ramirez.
Joey lived in Cimarron for the past 5 years. Joey was loved by many, remembered for his jokes and bear hugs. He was also was known for being one of the biggest Raider fans. He had a great personality and was liked by many. In his younger years, Joey, was a great softball player and played slow and fast pitch men’s softball for many years. He led the teams he played on to many victories and was known for hitting many homeruns.
Joey would help anyone in need.
Joey is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Mary Ramirez and brother Juan Duenes of California.
Joey is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marie Ramirez and Mother in Law, Martha Martinez of Cimarron, New Mexico. Daughter Tabitha Ramirez of San Antonio, TX, Stepsons, Kelvin Yokomilo of El Paso, TX, Kory Yokomilo and Robert Buentello of Salina, CA, One grand daughter, Emily Elizabeth Buentello of Salina, CA. Brothers, Eddie and wife Janie Ramirez of Huntington Beach, CA, Johnny and wife Cynthia Ramirez of Santa Maria, CA, David and Mike Ramirez of California, Carlos and wife Maryann Duenes of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Sisters, Becky and husband Armando Hernandez of Salinas, CA, Mary (Angel) and husband Armando Navarro of Bakersfield, CA, Rosalie and husband Mike Bryan of Las Vegas, NV. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from Escondido, CA. and many, many friends.
God brought this wonderful person to birth and in his arms when he died. In our grief and shock may God comfort all his family and embrace us with his love and give us hope in our confusion and grace to let Joey go into a new life through Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be Friday January 12, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Cimarron, New Mexico on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Rick Rinde officiating.
