The match was moved up to 1:00 p.m earlier in the week as Santa Fe Prep travelled to Raton for the early afternoon match in Tiger Gym where they didn’t hesitate to show the Lady Griffins know what to play.
The JV match started out with Santa Fe Prep taking the lead but the Lady Tigers kept on coming and kept the game close tying the game a couple of times but lost it late in the game after tying it at 23. Raton kept the pressure on and pulled out a win in the second game but somehow fell apart and hard a hard time even putting points on the board.

Santa Fe Prep 25 21 15
Raton 23 25 3
The Varsity match took a different tone as Santa Fe took the early lead and never looked back with Raton struggling to make the points with the spikes in the first game. Game one set the tone for the rest of the match as Raton struggled at the net seeing blocks fall to the floor on the wrong side of the net. Santa Fe Prep had a strong presence at the net with several of their players 5′ 8″ or taller.
As game two got under way it was once again Santa Fe Prep taking control and making the spikes hit home for the points. Several of the vollies travelled the net several times before they ended with a hard spike falling wide or well over the end line for Santa Fe Prep points instead of the point for Raton.
Game three went the same way as Prep made the net hard to get over with blocks and strong play on the floor. As game three came to an end Santa Fe Prep once again had the lead for the win.
