John Anthony Tokar passed away on September 20, 2017 ,doing what he enjoyed so much, working at his ranch.
John was born on February 8, 1939 in Aguilar, Colorado to Ann and John Tokar.
He attended elementary school at the Aspen Grove School House, then Aguilar High School
After graduation he served his country for two years in the Army stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged in 1959 and returning to Colorado, John began working in the Climax Mining Company in Leadville, Colorado, where he worked for seven years and left as the Mine Production Superintendent. John then moved to Trinidad, Colorado where he worked for CF&I, Wyoming Fuel and Basin Resources until he retired in 1997 after a 37 year career in the underground mining industry.
On June 29, 1963 John was united in marriage to Wanda (Jane) Pachorek and they had two sons. In 1973 they moved from Trinidad to the Weston area and began running cattle and building their ranch. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, prospecting in the mountains, ranching, watching the local high school sports teams and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded In death by his parents Ann and John Tokar, inlaws, Tony and Mabel Pachorek, and brother-in-law John Fodor.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Jane Tokar; sons Ron Tokar and Don (Marie) Tokar; siblings Joe (Karen) Tokar and Mage Fodor; along with numerous nieces and nephews
As his request, cremation with no services.
