Jerry Moore, age 86, died on Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Kenneth W. Tidmore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Jerry Moore was born on October 12, 1930 in Kim, Colorado to Robert Arthur Moore and Effie Louise (Glasgow) Moore. He graduated from high school in Kim, Colorado in 1948 and joined the US Navy. Jerry married Helen (Like) Moore on August 27, 1949 in Yuma, Arizona. Jerry worked as a meat cutter in a grocery store for several years before he joined with some partners and began opening grocery stores of their own. Jerry and Helen moved 23 times while opening and operating grocery stores. They purchased the Clayton Ranch Market in 1987 and moved to Clayton in 1993 where they operated the grocery store until they retired. Jerry was a pilot and his favorite thing to do was fly. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge and the First United Methodist Church in Clayton. Jerry served on the town council and was chairman of the remodeling of the Clayton Civic Center. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

WIFE: Helen Moore of Clayton, New Mexico.
1 DAUGHTER: Cherri Wolfe and her husband Rick of Curtis, Nebraska.
2 SONS: Brian Moore and his wife Linda of Clayton, New Mexico and Greg Moore and his wife Sheryl of Rawlins, Wyoming.
12 GRANDCHILDREN: Brandi, Pam, Michael, Kendall, Caron, Kelly, Kinsey, Adam, Taylor, Ben, Jarrett and Kellee.
17 Great-Grandchildren.
And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
