Theodore “Teddy” Joseph Barela passed away on August 1, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. He was born on March 31, 1971 to Tommy and Josie Casias Barela in Raton, New Mexico.
Teddy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Maclovia Martinez Barela, and maternal grandparents Frederico and Geronima Salazar Casias.
Teddy is survived by his parents, girlfriend Tami Farrell, brother Hank Berg, sister Cathy Berg, aunts: Alice, Elsie, Lillian and Nancy, Niece Nikki, great niece Adriana, great nephews Vernon, Dinishio and Nathaniel, best friend Tony the Penguin, and many cousins also survive.
Teddy was a godfather to Antonio Salazar, Jr., Mark Apodaca, Jr. and Tyler Munoz.
Teddy loved to dance, listen to music, go to concerts and sing. He loved to travel, cook and go to and watch movies. He was a devoted NY Yankees fan and Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday August 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at the St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette. Followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 with Father Bill Woytavich as Celebrant. Rite of committal and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
