In Loving Memory of Kelly Anne Powledge

Kelly Anne Powledge, 56, passed away on the morning of July 25, 2017 at home in Raton, NM. 

 

She was the wife of Bill Powledge and they shared almost 20 years of life together. She was born in Paris, Texas at St. Joseph Hospital on September 4, 1960. Kelly was the daughter of Jerry and Betty Moore. She graduated high school from North Lamar High in Paris, TX. 

In 1988, she moved to Raton, NM where she lived the remainder of her life. Kelly held a diverse working history throughout her life, but was most at home working with Bill at CarQuest where she worked for many years, until her health wouldn’t allow her any longer. The job that she was best at however, was being a mother to her daughter Marly Segura, and grandmother to her grandkids Myla and Maybree.

“Playing in the mud” was a favorite past time and memory for them. Kelly always reminded them to never take life too seriously. She was an avid animal lover and supported many different foundations and shelters, as well as always making a home for anything in need from cats and dogs, to snakes and injured possums, a trait she passed on to her daughter and granddaughters. 

As a Christian and a selfless person, Kelly loved everyone around her; always making everyone her friend. She will forever be remembered as someone you could always call when you needed someone to talk to and lean on. Her favorite thing to do was visit the cabin at her parents house in Direct, TX. The cabin and the Red River was her “happy Place”, and will forever be her spot of rest. She was taken too soon and will forever be in the hearts and minds of her loved ones.

Kelly Anne is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Betty Moore, niece Jeana Hohenberger and nephew Greg Onstott.

 

She is survived by her husband Bill Powledge, daughter Marly Segura and husband Martin, granddaughters Myla and Maybree. Mother Kathy Moore, sisters: Lynette Saufferer, Jeanie Thompson and husband Phil, brothers: Michael Moore, Erik Moore and wife Kelli. And Jeremy Moore. Brother and sister in law Robert and Janice Powledge, Cheryl and Jason Thrun. Mother and father in law, Sylvia and Charlie Powledge. 15 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and many many cousins.

Funeral services for Kelly Anne will be on Sunday August 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Raton, NM. With a gathering immediately following. Kelly’s’ Inurnment will take place in Direct, TX this fall.
