Gloria Almarez, age 89, passed away at Sangre de Cristo Hospice on July 19, 2017, after a short illness.
She was born in Ft. Lupton, CO on January 1, 1928 to Jesusita (Sanchez) and Guadalupe Bueno.
On November 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Mike A. Almarez in Ft. Lupton.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and care for her family.
Preceding her in death are parents Jesusita and Guadalupe Bueno, husband Mike Almarez, daughters Jennie Garcia , Augustine Almarez and son Rudy Villerreal.
Survivors are her children, Alice (Jerry) Mitton, Longmont, CO, Tony (Sharon) Almarez, Evans, CO, Anita (Jim) Duran, Pueblo, CO, Tommy (Marilyn) Almarez, Trinidad, CO, Pat (Ernestine) Almarez, Trinidad, CO, Louise Almarez, Lamar, CO, Angela Almarez ( Ralph Ponce), Pueblo, CO, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 3PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Rosary will be Monday, July 24, 2017 at 7PM at the Holy Trinity Church.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Rich Ponce, Richie Ponce, Gary Duran Jr., Gary Duran Sr., Ronnie Martinez and Frank Leone.
