Anita Louise Archuleta, 74, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.
Rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, May 5, 2017 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. Joel Bugas, Celebrant. Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Anita Louise (Gonzales) Archuleta was born on June 7, 1942 in Clayton, New Mexico to Joe M. Gonzales and Carlota (Garcia) Gonzales. She married Manuel Archuleta on April 25, 1961 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2011. Anita worked at the Safeway grocery store and later at the Clayton Ranch Market where she retired as a manager after 38 years working in the same building for the two different businesses. In addition to her husband, Anita was preceded in death by her father; Joe M. Gonzales, mother; Carlota (Garcia) Gonzales Padilla, step-father; Matias Padilla, 2 sisters; Della Elkins and Dolores Yoder and by 2 brothers; Joe Gonzales and Sam Gonzales.

3 DAUGHTERS: Mary Lou Handly of Knoxville, Tennessee, Valerie Maly of Clayton, New Mexico and Rosie Archuleta of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
1 SON: Richard Archuleta of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
3 GRANDCHILDREN: Richard Emanuel Michael Archuelta of Boston, Massachusetts, Nadany Handly of South Carolina and Christy Handly of Knoxville, Tennessee.
2 SISTERS: Lillie Barreras of Clayton, New Mexico and Gina Escobedo of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
1 BROTHER: Leo Ray Gonzales of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
