salapichMadelyn was born May 13, 1930 to William and Frances Fodor in Trujillo Creek, CO, where she was raised. Madelyn attended area school and Graduated from Aguilar High School. She was united in marriage to Joe Salapich in 1949 and moved to Gulnare, CO where they made their home.
Madelyn was a Mother and Housewife and Joe’s’ Princess. She loved cooking and was an amazing cook. She also enjoyed company and feeding people, no one was every a stranger in her home.
Madelyn is preceded in death by her darling husband Joe Salapich and precious son Donnie Salapich, her parents William and Frances Fodor, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Jake and Mary Salapich, Brothers and Sister-in-Laws, Charlie Fodor, Dan and Helen Fodor, Frank Fodor, William Fodor and John Fodor, Sisters and Brother-in-Laws, Mary and Bob Bertolino, Violet and Paul Alt, Lillian and Jack Stanton, and Rose and Frank Slevec, Brother-in-Laws and Sister-in-Laws, John and Edith Salapich, Jake and Andrea Salapich, Karl and Louise Salapich, Steve and Edna Salapich, Lucy and Emil Palovich, Nieces Janet Hamilton and Frances Stanton and Nephew Joe Palovich.
She is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-Law Mary Jo and Daymon Cagle of the home address, grandson Jason (Cara) Salapich and Great Grand children, Jason, Chloe and Jaxon Salapich, all of Lake Stevens, WA, grandsons Steven Salapich of California and Dacota Cagle of Denver, CO, brother Joe Fodor of Pueblo, CO, sister-in-laws, Margaret Fodor of Trinidad and Marge Fodor of Trujillo Creek and numerous nieces and nephews.
Madelyn is also survived by the staff and residents of the Spanish Peaks Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg who became a very dear part of her extended family. The staff did an amazing job caring for Madelyn through her illness.
Pallbearers will be Daymon and Dacota Cagle, Jack Stanton, John Fodor, Brandon Salapich and Jody Smith. Visitation will be Tuesday April 25th, 3pm-6pm at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel, Rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 26th, 10am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Aguilar, CO followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am and Graveside Services at the Family Cemetery in Gulnare, CO.
