Elinor E. Olson, born May 6, 1918 in Cimarron, New Mexico to Mathias Heck and Ida Campbell, passed at the age of 98, on April 7, 2017 at the Colfax General Long-term nursing home in Springer, NM.
Elinor lived in Cimarron, New Mexico until she married Lorence O. Olson. They then moved to Springer, New Mexico. Elinor loved to paint and belonged to a local painting group in Springer.
Elinor is preceded in death by her husband Lorence O. Olson, their son Michael Olson and her parents Mathias Heck and Ida Campbell, sisters; Elaine Milligan, and June West, one brother Matt Heck.
Survivors include daughters, Lenore Blackstone of Portland, Oregon; Karla Lindgren and husband James of Springer, NM; Rona Keech and husband David of Missoula, Montana; Jan Wills and husband Jeff of Spokane, Washington. Sisters, Laura Parker, Louise Perry and brother David Heck. Nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren.
Memorial Service for Elinor E. Olson will be on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral in Raton New Mexico with Deacon Ed Olona. Inurnment will follow immediately at the Mountain View Cemetery in Cimarron, New Mexico.
