Tigers Tame the Dragons

By Marty Mayfield

KRTN Multi-Media

It started out like Raton was going to trample the Monte Del Sol Dragons as they posted six runs in the first inning before going cold in the next two.

Raton simply couldn’t get the ball to fall in safe territory Thursday afternoon as the Dragon outfield seemed to find every ball hit their way. Raton Pitcher Cole Medina threw 10 strikeouts with only two hits and going the distance in the six inning game. After the first inning the game continued with neither team scoring until the fourth when Raton managed to put one run over the plate and then a walk off with bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth.

The Dragons left several runners on base as Medina threw strikes and those balls that were hit made it to the base for the out.
