Martha Menapace our sweet mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend was born December 17, 1932 in Van Houten, NM, the daughter of the late Lazo and Antonia Mileta. She passed away peacefully and pain free at MCMC on Sunday April 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband James Eugene Menapace, her in laws Frank and Anna Menapace, her sisters Emily Krulyac, Josephine Rodman and Elizabeth Parker.
She is survived by her daughters Tonya Menapace of the family home, who took such great care of her. Tricia Ortega and husband Steve Ortegea, (her favorite son in law she always called him). Her precious three grandchildren Jarrod Arguello and Melissa Gabol , Savannah Arguello and Phillip Mendez and Natausha Ortega. Her bonus great grandchildren Cheznee. She loved you guys very much. Her sister Zita Yaksich and Nickie. Helen Vukonich, Sophie Madrid and Ignacio, and Anna Stevens. Her brother Pete Mileta and Mary Neil. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha raised two young daughters alone and did a fabulous job. She was a widow for forty three years. She loved yard work, her green grass she was so proud of. She loved everyone she met, no one was a stranger. Special thanks to her caregivers Sally Cordova you have a heart of gold, Angela Fleming you’re the best, and Nancy Paulich her forever friend. She loved listening to KRTN, thanks Billy D and staff. The family would also like to thank everyone for the visits, kind words and prayers.
Memorial service will be Saturday April 8, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Woods officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.
