Susan LeDoux was born on August 11, 1926 in Raton, New Mexico the daughter of Samuel and Crucita Mares. Susan passed away on January 7, 2017 while surrounded with love by her family.
Susan married her high school sweetheart, Ramon Macias and they had three daughters; Dolores, Connie and Patricia. Ramon Preceded her in death in 1968. In 1974, Susan married Albert Le Doux who preceded her in death in 1999.
Susan was preceded in death by all seven of her siblings; Her brothers John, Junior, Charles and Salomon. Her sisters Cleo, Lucy, and Mabel.
Susan loved her daughters deeply. Dolores and her husband Maurice have two daughters, nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. Connie and her husband Rich have two sons and four grandchildren. Patricia and her husband Danny have three children and four grandchildren. Patricia left this world in 1991 and was there to greet her mother in Heaven when Susan passed away.
Susan reveled in her grandchildren, especially her great grandchildren. Whenever her grandchildren were with her, one or more of them were in her arms or hanging on to her clothes. She played dinosaurs with her great great grandson, had countless cups of imaginary tea with her great granddaughters, and snuggled their little bodies close to her while they slept.
Susan had an unwavering faith in God. She attended church regularly and was a very active member of her parish. Susan had many hobbies while she lived in Raton where she volunteered her time with numerous organizations and charities. In 2002, she moved to Denver to live with her two daughters where she continued to lead a very active life. She enjoyed participating in choir get-togethers, luncheons with friends, thrift store shopping and traveled to many places with her daughters.
The celebration of her 90th birthday in August 2016 was beautiful and very special for our family. Several of Susan’s family members who live in different parts of the state and country attended the celebration. Susan’s tears of joy and laughter were abundant that day as she was hugged by numerous friends and family, many of which she had not seen for several years. Susan will be greatly missed by the many lives that she has touched. She leaves behind a legacy filled with strength, dignity, and love which Susan has blessed each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with.
