In Loving Memory of Florence P. (Jernigan) Hall

Florence P. (Jernigan) Hall, age 69, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2017 and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM following the Rosary at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. C. John Brasher, and Fr. Joel Bugas as Celebrants. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

hall-florenceFlorence P. (Jernigan) Hall was born on July 11, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas to Arthur Lee Jernigan and Irma Elizabeth (Rock) Jernigan. Florence attended school in Amistad, New Mexico where she was the county Spelling Bee winner, she went on to compete in Amarillo and was the second place winner. She was the Valedictorian of her high school class in Amistad. Florence married Walter C. Hall on June 25, 1964 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. She started college in the Fall of 1964 at Panhandle State University. At the start of her fourth year she started teaching at Yarbrough, Oklahoma and when she earned her Bachelors Degree from Panhandle State University she had a teaching Contract to continue teaching at Yarbrough. Florence went on to teach school in Amistad and then in Clayton and she taught school for 33 years. While teaching school, Florence earned her Masters Degree and her Administrative Degree from West Texas State University. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. She loved to read and she loved to teach. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Florence was preceded in death by her parents.

SURVIVORS:

HUSBAND: Walter C. Hall of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Shane Hall and his wife Melanie of Artesia, New Mexico and Tony Hall and his wife Tina of La Junta, Colorado.

7 GRANDCHILDREN: Cade Hall, Cooper Hall, Tel Hall, Blake Hall, Dray Hall, Jerni Hall and Kraigan Hall.

4 SISTERS: Mary Maulsby and her husband Richard of Clovis, New Mexico, Barbara Campsey of Texline, Texas, Helen Tixier and her husband Adrian of Reno, Nevada and Carolyn Hall of Katy, Texas.

And numerous nieces, nephews and former students that thought a lot of Florence.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Florenceā€™s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, New Mexico, 3540 Pan American Fwy NE, Ste F, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107 or to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church , 115 N. First Street, Clayton, New Mexico 88415.
