James (Jim) Burk, 73 passed away on November 28, 2016.
Jim was born on March 3, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA to Paul and Elenor Burk.
Jim was an avid fisherman and wood crafter. Jim loved his book clubs and read books constantly. In the spring you could find Jim at Abundance Gardens picking flowers and vegetables and adding more roses to his garden. When Jim wasn’t baking, we would be sitting in his chair drinking coffee watching Sports Center or his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. He was very dedicated to his work with CASA and Hungry Hearts. But his real passion was being involved with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Jim is survived by his sister Joyce and husband Mike Stark of CA and his five children: daughter Cari and husband Steve Ibarra of VA, son Timothy and wife Bibiana Burk of CA, son David Burk, CA, son Anthony and wife Valerie Burk of Raton, NM and son Brian Burk of CA. And all of his grandchildren whom all held a special place in his heart.
Memorial services for Jim will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Raton, NM. with Pastor Mark Crotinger and Pastor Josh Wood officiating.
Arrangements and celebration of love for James (Jim) Burk are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
