Raton Police officers were dispatched to the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in south Raton in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. The suspect vehicle, a green van later found to be stolen from Trinidad, fled the parking lot in a southern direction from the scene and officers were able to locate the suspects as they were switching vehicles on the 1300 block of Vista Place. Officers engaged the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspects fled, leading officers on a pursuit through the city. Officers chased the suspect vehicle to the area north of Nick Cimino Circle where the suspects crashed into a concrete barrier and fled on foot. Officers were able to locate three of the suspects not far from the crash scene and take them into custody without incident. The fourth suspect was located several hours later thanks to a tip from the community and taken into custody without incident.
Suspects have been identified as: Moses D. Dickens (20) of Albuquerque NM; Christopher Dominguez (26) of Mountainair NM; Justin L. Harris (25) of Fairborn OH; and Antoine A. Mitchell (28) of Albuquerque NM. All suspects have been charged with: Armed Robbery; Tampering with Evidence; Conspiracy to commit armed robbery; Aggravated assault (with deadly weapon; Retaining stolen property (firearm); Receiving or transferring stolen motor vehicle; Possession of firearm by a felon; Resisting, evading an officer and; Conspiracy to commit aggravated fleeing of a law enforcement officer. Contact has been made with the US Attorney’s office in Albuquerque and it is believed that they will be taking the case, charging all men federally.

Raton Crimestoppers congratulates the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office and the Raton Police Department for a very quick response and resolution to the Medicine Shoppe robbery. It could have quickly evolved into a very dangerous situation with four armed thugs roaming our city. Good job, guys!
