Daniel Felix James Martinez, age 39 of Raton, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 in Raton.
He was born July 20, 1977 in Raton, the son of Danny R. and Edna Martinez.
Daniel was a construction worker, a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and snow.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Felix and Margaret Martinez, maternal grandmother Margie Martinez.
Daniel is survived by his parents Danny Martinez and wife Yolanda of Raton, mother Edna Sandoval and husband Roger of Raton, daughter Serenity Martinez of Clayton, NM, son Daniel F. Martinez, Jr. of Clayton, NM, sisters Monica Vigil and husband James of Maxwell, NM, and Erica Zamora of Raton. Kayla Sandoval and Kendra Sandoval of Raton, step-brother Patrick Sanchez of Raton, fiancé Balinda Hernandez of Raton and grandfather James (Eddy) Martinez of Raton.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by Frank Cimino, Jr. Mass of the Resurrection will follow with Father John Brasher as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery.
