Cristobal (Chris) Gonzales passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the age of 102 in Raton.
Chris was born September 2, 1914 in San Isidro Norte, New Mexico to Santos Gonzales and Aniseta Blea
Chris enjoyed playing pool, doing word search puzzles, and playing cards. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his first wife Lucaria Aragon Gonzales and daughters Castela Gonzales, Amalia Gonzales, Alicia Sandoval, Libby Sandoval, Tina Trujillo, Camila Gonzales and sons Hipolito Gonzales and Juan Sandoval, second wife Cora Barela Gonzales and daughters Marie Gonzales, Rachel Martinez, Berdina Burgess, Frances Aguirre and son Luke Salazar.
Chris is survived by daughters Deluvina Roybal, Kathy Trujillo, Hipolito’s wife Rebecca Gonzales, Teresa Cheney, and sons Seferino Gonzales and wife Mary, Pat Gonzales, Jimmy Gonzales and wife Bobbie, George Sandoval, David (Spider) Salazar, George Salazar and wife Loretta, Johnny Salazar and Amos Salazar. He also leaves behind 60 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 15, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Yaksich-Long Funeral Home. Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton followed by Solemn Mass of the Resurrection. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
