Eloisa Rivera, age 59. A beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend. She was born in Raton, New Mexico on October 30, 1956 and graduated from Raton High in 1974. She received a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Social Work and retired as a Chief of Social Services for the State of Nevada.
Eloisa went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2016. She was the daughter of John and Margaret Grine of Raton, NM, both deceased.
Everyone who knew Eloisa all share so much gratitude for her generosity, kindness, wisdom and strength. Even in her darkest days suffering the debilitating effects of Scleroderma, she still inspired all around her to trust in the Lord and never take a single day for granted. She encouraged all to believe in the power of their own inner-strength as they face life’s challenges. She gave so much to everyone and never asked for anything in return, other than to use our gifts to make a difference in this world in any way we can.
Eloisa is survived by her husband – Fred Rivera; children – Greg; Stepchildren: Richelle, Ray, Jim and Sara; grandchildren – Jace, Salley, Pyeatt, Joseph, Myah, Bethany, and Nicole; Siblings – Robert, Johnny, Alex, Augustine, Lupita, Theresa, Rosalie, Berniece, and Patricia. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eloisa died of Scleroderma and wished for, in lieu of flowers or gifts, that a donation is made to the Scleroderma foundation at: http://www.scleroderma.org/site/TR?px=1381925&pg=personal&fr_id=1050&et=7gwfJLBwPDuAWf1z-PUpPA#.WAr8ePkrLrc
There will be a Mass Intention reading in Eloisa’s honor St. Patrick/Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday, November 5, 2016 during the 5:30 pm Mass, followed by a reception at the Best Western Raton Hotel in the Board Room.
