Raton hosted the Peñasco Lady Panthers Thursday evening and continued the winning streak they have been working on this month.
The JV split one with the Lady Panthers but didn’t play the tie breaker since Peñasco was short enough players to meet game restrictions put forth by the NMAA.

The Raton varsity girls started the match out on a slow note in both the first and second games of the match as Peñasco took the early lead. Once Raton got warmed up and found the groove they took off and out scored the Lady Panthers. Raton struggled with getting the ball over the net on both spikes and simple hits. Blocking at the net faired well but Peñasco worked past that by hitting the ball up and high over the net.
Game three however was a different game with Raton taking the early lead and dominating the game with both strong play at the net and keeping the Lady Panthers off balance. Raton extended the lead to over 15 points by the final ball.
