Frances J. Montoya, age 83, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Terrell Jones, pastor of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Frances J. (Fernandez) Montoya was born on August 27, 1933 in Boulder, Colorado to Eliseo Fernandez Eugenia (Quintana) Fernandez. She married Alfredo Aaron Montoya on August 18, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1991. Frances worked in the Boulder Community Hospital for several years. She moved to Clayton with her husband Alfredo when they retired in 1974. After moving to Clayton Frances to Home Health Care work for many more years. She was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton and she loved to tell stories about her life to her grandchildren. Frances was a prayer warrior for all of her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by daughter Gloria Alvarado, grandson Aaron Gonzales, by nine brothers and sisters and 2 stepchildren Virginia and Angel.
SURVIVORS:
3 DAUGHTERS: Susan Trujillo and her husband Mike of Lafayette, Colorado, Debra Barajas and her husband Joe of Longmont, Colorado and Sharon Gonzales and her husband Gilbert of Clayton, New Mexico.
1 SON: Ronnie Ramirez of Denver, Colorado.
6 STEPCHILDREN: Susan Gallegos, Sandy Griff, Mary, George, Phyllis and Trina.
1 BROTHER: Joe Fernandez of Denver, Colorado.
13 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
