Zelma C. Pacheco, age 87, passed away on August 16, 2016 in Raton.
Zelma was born in Johnstown, Colorado on June 1, 1929 to parents Alfonso and Clara Gonzales-Ortiz.
Zelma was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Epifania Ortiz, brother Epifanio Ortiz, sisters Mary E. Montoya, and Mary L. Rohr and son Andrew Maez.
Zelma is survived by her husband Joe of the family home in Raton, sons Leroy Espinoza of Colorado Springs and Albert Pacheco of Raton, sister Emilia Montoya and husband Roger of Denver and brother Louis Ortiz and wife Becky of Denver, grandchildren Leroy Espinoza lll of Colorado Springs, Sonny Espinoza of Colorado Springs, Robin Maez of Las Vegas, NM and Andrew Maez of California. Zelma is also survived by eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Zelma was a member of the St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton. She was a waitress and cook for many years.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary was held on Monday August 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Deacon Tom Alderette followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bill Wytovith as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
